Kenya National Examination Council offers two Human Resources programs; Diploma in Personnel Management and Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management.


Diploma in Personnel Management

Entry requirements

  • Craft Certificate in Personnel Management or
  • KCSE mean grade C- and above or
  • KCE Division 3

Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management

Entry requirements

  • Diploma in Personnel Management (KNEC) at the technical level
  • Diploma in Labour Management Studies (KNEC) or Diploma in Business Administration (KNEC) at the technical level but which must have a minimum of at least 3 of the following subjects: Organizational Behaviour, Labour and Industrial Relations, Human Resource Management, Labour and Industrial Law, Sociology of Work and Psychology work.
  • A degree from a recognized University

There are two intakes into the program: January and July

Each level takes 6 months

MODES OF STUDY

FULL – TIME CLASSES

There are two full – time courses each year.

1st Semester: Early January to early May
Monday – Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00pm

2nd Semester: Early July to early November
Monday – Friday 8:30 am to 4:00 pm

PART – TIME (Evening) CLASSES

There are two part-time courses each year.

1st Semester: Early January to early May
Monday – Friday 5:30 pm to 7:30pm, Saturday 8:30 to 1:00pm

2nd Semester: Early July to early November
Monday – Friday 5:30pm to 7:30pm, Saturday 8:30am to 1:00pm

Distance Learning

Registration & Examination

  1. Examinations are conducted by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) with whom students must register.
  2. Examinations are held twice a year, in July and November
  3. Examination registration is done in February for the July exams and July for the November exams.
