Certified Public Accountant

CPA is for those who wish to quality and work as professional accountants, auditors, finance managers, tax managers and tax consultants.

Entry requirements

  • Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE) with at least TWO principle passes provided that, the applicant has credits in Mathematics and English at Kenya Certificate of Education (KCE) Level.
  • Kenya Accounting Technicians Course (KATC) or Accounts Clerk National Certificate (ACNC)
  • A degree from a recognized University
  • KCSE mean grade C+, C+ in Mathematics and C+ in English
  • Such other certificates or diplomas as may be approved by the Board of KASNEB

There are two intakes into the program: January and July

Duration

Each level takes 5 months

MODES OF STUDY

FULL – TIME CLASSES

There are two full – time courses each year.

1st Semester: Early January to early May
Monday – Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00pm

2nd Semester: Early July to early November
Monday – Friday 8:30 am to 4:00 pm

PART – TIME (Evening) CLASSES

There are two part-time courses each year.

1st Semester: Early January to early May
Monday – Friday 5:30 pm to 7:30pm, Saturday 8:30 to 1:00pm

2nd Semester: Early July to early November
Monday – Friday 5:30pm to 7:30pm, Saturday 8:30am to 1:00pm

Registration and Examination

It is the responsibility of students to ensure that they have obtained necessary registration from KASNEB. Proof of the same should be provided to TIM.

Registration (Student ship)

  1. Initial Registration 30th November for those wishing to sit the examination in June.
  2. Initial Registration 31st May for those wishing to sit the examination in December.

Registration (Examination)

  1. Deadline; 15th February for those wishing to sit the examination in June.
  2. Deadline; 15th August for those wishing to sit the examination in December.

Note: Up to one month is allowed of late registration / exam entry. 50% of the normal fee is levied as penalty for late registration.
